Traveling Trunks

We’ll pack our bags and bring history to you.

Do you want to experience the Greensboro Historical Museum without leaving your classroom? We have great news: you can, because we’ll bring it to you! We’ll serve up history at your Guilford County location; all you have to do is schedule a Traveling Trunk. Whether your group consists of students, Scouts or seniors, our Traveling Trunks bring local stories right to the places where you live, play and study. The trunks are loaded with many objects and visual aids.

Traveling Trunks are for use in Guilford County classrooms. Each trunk features original items, reproductions and visual aids.

High School classes can also enjoy the museum’s resources in the comfort of their classroom. New Resource Kits, designed for use with an entire class or for an independent researcher, provide copies of primary documents, graphics and objects.

Choose the option that works best for you: a lending trunk complete with an easy-to-use script, a trouped trunk shared by a museum volunteer or a resource kit for your high school students. Whichever you choose, we merely ask for a reservation form and a modest fee.
