5 by O. Henry Plays

Greensboro’s own William Sidney Porter takes the stage to retell five of his engaging tales filled with laughs, lessons and surprises. You’ll also enjoy the vintage music that helps make this event a banquet for the senses.

Dortch Endowment Event

John Dortch honored his family, community and state, and now we honor him. This series, in memory of the dynamic attorney, connects Greensboro and the surrounding region to the Museum’s collections in fresh new ways.

Previous programs include: Talking Barbecue, Echoes of Slavery, History Through a Film Lens and 19th Century Southern Gardens.

Wicker Endowment Event

Architect John Wicker helped design and build many of Greensboro’s most memorable structures. But Wicker was more than just his work; his wide-ranging interests included ongoing support of the Greensboro Historical Museum.The endowment created by his wife Ruth continues to sustain the series today. Past programs have ranged from demonstrations of the beauty and skill of decorative painting techniques, to the infectious rhythm of ragtime music, from the sights and sounds of a Civil War encampment to the story and smells of Starbucks coffee.
