The McNairy House
Hall and Parlor

parlor.jpg (36995 bytes)

The McNairy house was built on the "Hall and Parlor" plan.  This picture was taken from the vantage point of the front door.  The McNairy family, Francis, Mary Boyd and their ten children used the hall to eat, work, talk, read Scripture and sleep if it was very cold.  The fireplace in the McNairy house was used for heat, not cooking.
